Herman Miller Kjaerholm, PK22

The PK22 is considered to be Kjaerholm’s seminal work. Designed in 1956, it was an immediate critical and commercial success. It was awarded the Grand Prix at the Milan Triennale in 1957.

The design encapsulates Kjaerholm’s acclaimed design ability. The reduced and minimal frame is separated into components for ease of production The seat and back are wrapped in an envelope of leather to provide comfort despite the fine profile. The PK22 demonstrates an acute attention to detail and is respected as a design of great elegance.
